About the I&C Course
Fundamentals of Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) is part of Risk Alive’s training series, designed to build practical competency in the instrumentation and control systems that support safe, reliable day-to-day operation of oil and gas facilities.
Whether you are new to I&C or looking to strengthen your technical foundation, this 2-day course provides the core understanding needed to support better operational decisions, improved troubleshooting, and stronger contributions to risk assessments and hazard studies.

- Understand the purpose and application of common field measurement devices, including level, pressure, temperature, and flow instruments.
- Learn how final control elements work, including a step-by-step approach to control valve sizing.

- Recognize key I&C design, maintenance, and operational considerations, including common pitfalls and failure modes.
- Apply I&C fundamentals to improve plant reliability and to support process safety, environmental protection, and regulatory compliance activities.
